The Major Health Risk You Take Every Day

Most people think smoking is the worst thing for their health. Perhaps the worst thing of all is something most of us do every day: sitting.

Sitting isn’t dangerous just because it means you’re not exercising. It’s dangerous all by itself.

Prolonged time spent on your bum has significant metabolic consequences. It negatively affects your blood sugar, triglycerides, good cholesterol, resting blood pressure and levels of the “appetite hormone” leptin, all of which are biomarkers of obesity and cardiovascular disease.

Cancer-Causing Chemical Found in Nearly 100 Shampoos and Soaps

You shouldn’t ignore this article. With as many brands as are guilty of containing this Cancer causing chemical, chances are very high that you are already using one of them and have at least one of these shampoos in your house right now!

In addition to many brand name shampoos and personal care products (see the full list, below), the CEH testing found cocamide DEA in store-brand products purchased at Walmart, Trader Joe’s, Pharmaca and Kohl’s. A store brand children’s bubble bath from Kmart and a children’s shampoo/conditioner from Babies R Us were also found with cocamide DEA. Falsely labeled organic products from Organic by Africa’s Best also tested for high levels of the cancer-causing chemical (CEH previously won a legal settlement with this company requiring it to end its use of phony organic labels).

What Does Sugar Do to Your Brain?

The overconsumption of sugar is increasingly being linked to brain-related health issues such as depression, learning disorders, memory problems and overeating.

Research suggests consumption of sugar and sweets can trigger reward and craving states in your brain similar to addictive drugs. Not all sugars have the identical effects. Fructose has been shown to activate brain pathways that increase your interest in food, whereas glucose triggers your brain’s satiation signal.
